Story Behind the Image
"The Miracle at Philadelphia"
The collection of men who attended the Constitutional Convention was truly a miracle. They were raised up for this very purpose. They did not consider their post as a position of gain and glory, but rather they humbly considered it a position of honor. Major William Pierce, a delegate from Georgia, expressed that sentiment when he said:
“The . . . flattering opinion which some of my friends had of me . . . gave me a seat in the wisest council in the world.”
The Constitutional Convention was a miracle. It united a group of men that were among the most honorable and intelligent the world has ever known. They came together and framed a government based on the majesty of God’s law.
The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America formed our nation into a heritage of belief, faith and trust in the Creator. The colonists called upon Him, and He
answered. The common man invoked His divine help, and He answered. The founders sought wisdom, and He answered. These two documents can solve every problem facing our country today.
